Dear Sir,

Year after year I reading the motivating, enthusiastic and intelligent statements of Civil Services toppers stating to serve the society and curb corruption, but over the years, is there any change in the bureaucratic environment with the entry of such young enthusiast. Answer is no. I strongly feel that these young achievers does not understand the ‘system’ and make such motivating and idealistic statements of happiness of entering the elite, glamorous and powerful civil services. But with time majority of them either land up disillusioned or are increasingly being sucked into the whirlpool of corruption, materialism, selfishness, consumerism, ‘at any cost” approach to life and under the hypnotizing influence of market forces, distorted, degenerated and disfigured cultural, moral, religious, political and social values, that is why ‘steel’ frame of India is being transformed into ‘steal’ frame of India. On the other hand if these idealistic toppers remain focused on governance they definitely has potential to make some difference, but unless radical administrative and political reforms are initialed, nothing much is expected of them.

Yours Sincerely
